SISTA | #100daysofnewjack

Let's continue #100daysofnewjack with Day 5!

In the late 80s, Missy Elliott, LaShawn Shellman, Chonita Coleman and Radiah Scott formed an R&B group called Sista, for which Elliott served as a singer and songwriter. She recruited her neighborhood friend Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley as the group's producer and began making demo tracks. In 1991, Sista caught the attention of Jodeci member/producer DeVante Swing by performing Jodeci songs acapella for him backstage after one of his group's concerts. In short order, Sista moved to New York City, now signed to Elektra Records through DeVante's Swing Mob imprint.

4 All the Sistas Around da World is the debut and only studio recorded by the R&B girl group Sista, released September 20, 1994

Although the album received positive reviews from music critics, the work was eventually shelved due to the first single not having much success on the charts. However in May 2017, 4 All the Sistas Around da World was officially released on digital and streaming platforms by Rhino Entertainment.

All music by DeVante Swing & Timbaland except where noted.
